How does a Laboratory Autoclave Work?

Image
Before getting into the how does a laboratory autoclave work, we will be seeing a brief about what is autoclave and it’s basic. What is Autoclave? The autoclave is to most common equipment you can find in the laboratory in vitro cultures. In other words, Autoclave is equipment used to sterilize various solutions, objects, containers, etc. It increases the pressure and hence the temperature is raised above the normal point for sterilizing process. How does autoclave work for Laboratory? The working of an autoclave is common as a normal pressure cooker we use in the kitchen. There are variously sized autoclaves available. Working of all of them is common. it closes the lid or chamber of the equipment. Steam is replaced in place of air to start the sterilization process. Basically, the cycle for the working of Autoclave consists of 3 different phase. The three-phase does the same process as we mentioned above. The three phases are – Purge Phase – Exposure (Sterilization...

What is an Medical Autoclave?

Image
An autoclave is basically a medical machine which is used for eradicating bio hazardous waste which may be present on the on the medical surgery instruments due to regular and continuous use.   Sterilizer Autoclaves make use of water, pressure, as well as heat for creating super heated steam having the power to kill microorganisms and even spores. The Medical Autoclave was actually invented in the year 1884 by Charles Chamberland and now used in all clinical, labs, hospitals and dental clinics.   Microbes which may be present on the medical instruments cannot be eradicated just with washing with water. Extra attention is a must for killing them and making the medical devices ready for reuse on the nest patient or in lab. The instruments which need to get sterilized can be stored right in chamber of Table Top Autoclave belly. Different combination of temperature and timing is used to get the instruments sterilized inside the Autoclave and nee...

What is Sterilization?? What is Autoclave & EO Gas sterilization??

Image
Sterilization is the process of eliminating all forms of the living microorganisms and other biological agents. Microorganisms are present in the specified region such as the volume, medication and compound like biological, cultural media. Sterilization can be achieved with the different means and methods such as heat, chemicals, filtration, high pressure and irradiation.Sterilization is done in order to preserve the substance for the longest period of time without any kind of decay. Sterilization is totally different from the sanitization, pasteurization and disinfection.  Sterilization mostly uses the Autoclave   in order to sterilize the products. If the substance is not properly sterilize , this may contain numbers of the microbes which cause infections. EO Gas sterilization is performed by the means of bactericidal gas. Ethylene oxide is the gas that is mostly used . This gas is highly explosive and inflammable. But Ethylene oxide is the mos...
